Check Your Flight Details

Check with your holiday company the latest information about your flight details or package holiday. It may seem obvious but make sure you are going to the correct airport. Gatwick there is a north and south terminal.

Allow adequate time to travel to the airport, taken into account traffic or roadworks delays. Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight.

Booking your taxi or Uber making sure they arrive on time.

Passport

Don't forget to take your passports. Some countries require a 12 month period before it expires if you are travelling. Check all the family passports are up to date and have at lease 12 months before it expires.

If travelling to a country where a Visa is required. Check all the details of your visa, also check if you can travel across the border to adjoining countries. 

Electronic Travel Authorisation

Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETAs) are being introduced worldwide
Eligible non-Europeans need an ETA to travel to the UK.
Eligible Europeans can apply from 5 March 2025 and will need an ETA to travel from 2 April 2025.
An ETA is a digital permission to travel – it is not a visa and does
not permit entry into the UK – it authorises a person to travel to the UK.
Applying for an ETA is quick and simple. Visitors should apply in advance and find out when to do so on GOV.UK.
An ETA currently costs £10 and permits multiple journeys to the UK
for stays of up to six months at a time over two years or until the
holder’s passport expires – whichever is sooner.

EU ETIAS  Electronic Travel Authorisation

The rules of travel to Europe have changed. Starting six months after EES, some 1.4 billion people from over 60 visa-exempt countries are required to have a travel authorisation to enter most European countries.

ETIAS is currently not in operation and no applications are collected at this point. It is due to start 6 months after EES.

USA & Canada also require you to fill in an online application form before you can enter the country.

Travel Insurance
